About the Women Behind the Scenes Then Jesus asked them, "Would anyone light a lamp and then put it under a basket or under a bed? Of course not! A lamp is placed on a stand, where it's light will shine. For everything that is hidden will eventually be brought into the open, and every secret will be brought to light. Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand. Mark 4:21-23 (NLT) These are the women that make up A Proverbs 31 Woman at this time. I continue to pray that other women having a contribution to make, no matter how big or small, will be shown to me, so that we might build a website for all women. If you too, should feel moved to volunteer your time and efforts, please feel free to contact me. | Shalene Kearney I am a happily married, Christian woman, with four beautiful children. I am owner of A Proverbs 31 Woman Wannabe blog, and the administrator for this website. I came to the Lord in December 2004, after the sudden death of my mother, and a very rough patch in my marriage with my spouse, Bob. God has placed within me a desire to share the “workshops” that I have “completed” in my life, so that others might benefit from these blessings and trials. I would also like to hear your story. In trusting fellowship with one another, we can all learn to exhibit the Holy Spirit’s work within us, by mirroring the love He showed to us. I pray that your faith walk will be strengthened, as well as your emotional ties, your marriages, and your life in general.
My children are ages 15, 12 (the only boy), 6, and 2. I recently became a stay at home mom, and have learned that although I thought I knew what motherhood was all about, I’ve gotten a whole new perspective on this subject. I was a career woman until the birth of my most recent blessing. Since deciding that being a stay-at-home mom is my career, I am searching for and finding resources everywhere; and am moved to share them with you. Obviously, my first resource is my bible; because every instruction I could ever need for how to live my life and raise my children, is within those pages. I also have my friends, other mothers I know and the internet- which is how this site came about. I do not profess to know it all, or to understand your exact situation. I do not hold any specialized degrees or have any formal education in ministry, so do not mistake me for a pastor (though, technically I am an ordained minister, I only use the ordination for marriage ceremonies). I’m just ministering in the manner that I do best, communicating. I’m just another woman like you, holding a certificate from the “School of Hard Knocks,” as my mother used to put it. If you desire prayer, or would like to share praise with me, I invite you to contact me. All information is kept strictly confidential, and will not be shared with anyone.
I give all Glory to God and want to give credit to all those that have helped me to grow in my own faith walk. In so doing, they enabled me to listen, when that “still small voice” told me that I was meant for something more. (I did not actually “hear” any voices, do not misunderstand. I am not claiming prophecy.) This entire website is all about ministering to women like myself, whether they be wives, mothers, career women, stay at home moms, or all of the above. I will be continuing to work on this site, and hope that if you have any comments, questions, suggestions, or even encouragements, that you will feel free to contact me. I pray that you will find encouragement and value in this site, and that the Lord will work through me to show you that you are a woman more precious than rubies. In other words, A Proverbs 31 Woman! May the Lord bless you and keep you. In Him, Shalene | Hannah I am most blessedly married to my childhood sweetheart, Anthony. Together, we have five beautiful children, two daughters and three sons. Ages 13, 6, 4, 3 and 1. I have been a believer of Jesus Christ of Nazereth since my youth. I'm not affliated with any religion, doctrine or church. I am called to promote the good news of Christ, and testify of His life-altering love. I have been a homemaker for the past six years. My husband and I are currently in the process of establishing our home-based business, Provident Medical Billing Services. I own In Spirit and In Truth my personal blog and The Olive Parent, a parenting/maternity related blog. It is my sincere hope and desire to meet other women of the faith and share in the praises and glorifying of Him. Do you have a prayer request? Questions? I invite you to contact me. May God enrich you with peace, and bless you in your pursuit of knowledge in Him! |
